Dear vintage glider pilots, we do have some NOTAMs for you. Well, it is rather too „loud and proud“ consider these at-first-view chaotic news a Notice to Airmen, but... We are trying to bring to you More than Words. So – oops, what the OPS mean? Oldtimer Pribina Star, probably the best competition of vintage gliders in Slovakia and nearby Universe in the latest years.

My congratulations, if you followed the text until here. Now we try to be more exact. So: whoever will come to LZNI – Nitra airfield in August 2017 – from 11th till 19th, will have the possibility to meet fans of soaring history in the air, other pilots and the great chance to compete and even to win. As we do have the year 2017 AD, according to our „rules, terms and conditions“ we can calculate 2017 minus 2000 and here we go: 17€ is the competition entry fee. Yes, sadly it will be 18 in 2018, because not only Money not covered by gold are losing its value. Please, add 100€ for tows at the beginning as well, we will return the unused part after the competition end if this will be the case.

Well, Money... You will have few more ways to spend it. Aerotow will cost you 3€ per minute, thermals are free of charge so far (global warming EU fee excluded). Please, send your entries by July 17th, otherwise cpt. Igor may apply his „six beer rule“. But, let ́s be serious: we do have to know for preparations. In the hangar we are able to accommodate some 40 gliders and also some amount of people in the bungalows (there is another option to find accommodation in near village). Old rule: first come – first take.

What is new: white things – I mean fiber gliders and new washing machines with highly competitive gliding ratio – could fly but: out of the competitor ́s list. All the wooden, metal, mixed and preferably as old as impossible constructions are here to compete. And the program? August 11th – come, see and rest. 12th – opening and flag ceremony, later flying (duration in the air is the first day task). All the other days – regular tasks (AAT or racing). Everyday briefing at 10 a.m., taking off time: noon till 5:30p.m. One wild party will take place sometimes between Aug. 14th to 16th and the Farewell party on 18th. And finally – 19th at the 11 a.m. we will know the official winners and the Zväzarm flag will travel down the stick.

All of you – new or „old“ OPS pilots and family members are welcome, we are looking forward to see you so much, that we do hope, that later you will be looking backward to see us – again and again. So – Let ́s Fly the History into the Future.
